George Cottrell - 69, Passed away October 25, 2018 after a lengthy illness. George was born in Colorado on August 14, 1949. He moved to Los Alamos soon after where his father owned the bowling alley in the Community Center. George graduated from Los Alamos High School in 1968. George grew up learning how to fix things and keep machines running. He worked at the Los Alamos Bowling Alley repairing ball returns and pin setting machines. He was always thinking up something to construct, remodel or fix. He managed to keep an old '55 Ford running better than new throughout his high school years even if it did seem to have four different sized tireson it at any given time. He was a member of the Los Alamos Hill Chargers car club during high school. George had more than his fair share of life's curve balls but he was always quick with a hug and a big smile for any of his old friends he would meet.George is preceded in death by his father Leo J. Cottrell; his mother Jeanette A. Cottrell (nee Mathwig); a sister Vicki Cottrell, and brothers Gary Cottrell and Leo Cottrell. Cremation has already taken place and services are scheduled for Saturday, February 16, 11 AM, at the Los Alamos Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. His cremains will be transported at a later date to Colorado for interment. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Georges name to your favorite charity.
