George Barela , 49, a resident of Los Alamos passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017 after a hard-fought and lengthy illness with Glioblastoma Brain Cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Marylou Barela. Mr. Barela was the Owner of MasterCraft Paint and body, he also was a martial arts instructor, he also loved working out, and spending time with his family. He was extremely proud of the roles he played as a stunt double during the television show, Longmire. He enjoyed eating chocolate, and using his natural remedies. Mr. Barela is survived by his wife, Loreyann Barela; children, Joshua, Cisco, and Dominique Barela (Carlos); loyal companions, Bambi and Thumper; siblings, Anthony Barela, Elizabeth (Chris), and Katherine (John); mother-in-law, Francis Martinez; sisters-in-law, Ethel, Gloria, Elise, Maryann (Louie), Vicky, Michelle (Brian); cousins, Renee and Sonya; grandchildren, Kyana, Julian, Jayden, and Richard, and many other nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. A Memorial Service was held on Monday, December 11, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at El Buen Pastor Church in Española. Serving the family as pallbearers were: Joshua, Francisco, and Dominique Barela. The family of George Barela has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
