George - Age 82 - Española Leichtle

GEORGE LEICHTLE SR., 82, a resident of Española, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2010 following a sudden illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen Leichtle; son, George Leichtle Jr.; parents, Albert and Eleanor Leichtle; brothers, Ephiam, Elmer, Donald, Albert Jr. and Wilder Leichtle. George was a loved father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was born in Petaca and owned his own business for over 30 years. He served in the Army and was a WWII Veteran. He will be dearly missed. Mr. Leichtle is survived by his grandchildren, Amber Leichtle and companion Leonard Valdez of Fairview, Rico Leichtle of Española and Franchesca Leichtle of Albuquerque; great-grandchildren, Andrea Mascareñas and Giovanni Espinoza both of Española; sisters, Florence Roybal of El Rito, Emma Leichtle of Las Vegas, Nevada, Nora Gonzales and husband Joe of Arizona, Flora Williams of CA and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Burial to follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Leonard Valdez, Joe Gonzales, Rico Leichtle, Jose Bulow, David Tapia and Jason Roybal. The Leichtle family has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
