Gary Padilla, 53, a resident of Alcalde passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2012. Gary enjoyed spending time camping & fishing with his family. He was a great singer, drummer and loved to dance. His greatest joy in his life was his grandchildren. Gary was a very kind hearted person and opened his heart and home to everyone. He was always surrounded with an abundance of love by all his many, many friends & family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Isabel Padilla; brothers: Manuel Padilla, Luis Padilla, Joe W. Padilla and Evaristo Padilla, Joe War; sister, Mabel War; in-laws, Rafael and Elena Lujan, Gorgonio and Donna Lujan, Jerry and Gema Lujan and Belma Sandoval. Gary is survived by his wife Vicki Padilla; children: Steven and wife Liane, Isabel and companion Marty Sherwood, Juliet Padilla all of Alcalde; grandchildren: Savannah, Estrella, Reina, Marissa, Sofia, Faith and Izaiah, Shannon, Dominick, Devin and Tino all of Alcalde; brothers: Frank Padilla and wife Mary, Pete Padilla and wife Sally, Jimmy War and wife Rose; sisters: Edna Schutz and husband Bill, Della Montoya and husband Salomon, Helen Salazar and husband Napoleon, Ernestine Edmonds and husband Riley, Lita Martinez and husband Belarmino, Esther and Joe Martinez, Marcella Martinez and husband Robert, Lillian Coca, Lorraine Romero and husband Hermino, Rose Hay and husband Tom, Mary Jane Ocaña and husband Pepe; in-laws: Modesta Padilla, Juanita Padilla, Manuelita Romero and husband Robert, Ida Berry and husband Lee, Arthur Lujan and wife Ada, Johnny and Leroy Lujan; loving aunt, Nora Halford; many nieces, nephews whom he loved very very much. Public visitation will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Burial to follow at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Española with the following serving as pallbearers: Fernando Salazar, Randy Martinez, Keith Padilla, Larry Ocaña, Everette Martinez and Brian Balky; honorary pallbearers: Miguel Lujan, Leonard Padilla, Charlie Montoya, Fabian and Gabriel Padilla, Dominic Montoya, Adam Martinez, Daniel Berry, Eric Jaramillo and Ben War.
