Gabriel Baca

Gabriel Baca, 83 of Española passed away January 12, 2024, surrounded by his family.  He was born in Albuquerque, NM in 1940 to Jose and Maria Baca.  He was preceded in death by his parents,  wife Rosina Baca, granddaughter Mallory Baca, brothers Pat and Trini Baca, sisters Emma Knowles and Rupe Chavez, in-laws Anastacio and Roberta Sisneros, brother in law Anastacio Sisneros Jr. and sisters in law Viola Rael and Genevieve Pignonni. 

Gabriel served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea.  After the Army he met his future wife Rosina in Ojo Caliente.  They were married in South San Francisco in 1963, where they resided until 1975, when they returned to New Mexico.  He worked as a Social Worker, DVR Counselor, then retired from the Protective Force at LANL in 2019 after 33 years.

Gabriel is survived by his son Gabriel and wife Lori, daughter Marcia, son Adam, granddaughters Natasha and Gabriela Baca, grandsons Amabilis Baca, Marcos Trujillo and Adan Baca, great granddaughter Jayden Baca, brother Joe Baca, brothers in law Joe Sisneros and Augustine Pignonni and many nephews and nieces.
