Frank Montez Jr., a 44-year resident of Los Luceros, NM, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on Friday, November 2, 2018.  Frank was born in Guadalupe, CA, where he met and married his wife Rosana Ortiz. He moved to Los Luceros in 1974 and became owner of Valley Transmission auto repair in Espanola.  He loved his family, many relatives, and friends in New Mexico and California.  He also loved to comfort stray people and animals.  He was loved greatly by his family and friends and will be missed for his unique sense of humor, sound advice and generous, generous heart.  He is survived by his wife of 61 years Rosana, son Martin (Theresa), son Danny (Dora), daughter Leticia, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Kathleen (Dave). A rosary will be recited on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at San Juan Bautista Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh with a Memorial Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held after the burial. The family of Frank Montez Jr. has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
