Frank Lucero

d. August 9, 2022

Frank Tony Lucero, 74, a resident of El Guache went to be with his Heavenly Father after a short illness on Sunday, August 7, 2022. Frank was born on June 1, 1948 to Tony and Bertha Lucero,  also preceding Frank in death.

Frank retired after 20 years of service with the City of Espanola as streets maintenance worker. He also worked for Jemez Electric Co-op as a Journeyman lineman. Frank worked various jobs throughout his life and career. He honorably served his country in the Army National Guard.

Frank was an avid Raiders fan. He attended NFL games in California and Denver to watch his favorite team play. Anyone who saw Frank, saw he had to be wearing something of the Raiders whether it was cap, ring, jacket or t-shirt.

Frank enjoyed his small tight knit family very much and he will be dearly missed. Frank is survived by his daughter Shelley and her husband Robert of San Pedro; granddaughter “Danny” Danekah Olguin of Albuquerque and her fiancée Justyn Johnson; great-granddaughter “Little D” Delahni Robertson of Albuquerque; brother, Armando (Hack) Lucero and nephew Paul Lucero of El Guache.  Also surviving Frank is his grand-doggy “Mimi”, close neighbors, relatives, friends and caregivers.

Public visitation will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 5:30pm in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory followed by a rosary to be recited at 6:00pm.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 11:00am at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz with interment to follow at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Cemetery in Espanola at 12:30pm with the following serving as pallbearers: Danekah Olguin, Robert Olguin, Paul Lucero, Tim Herrera, Tommy Montoya, and Alyssa Quintana. His honorary pallbearer is his pride and joy “Little D” (Delahni Robertson). The family of Frank Tony Lucero has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley. 505-747-7477.
