FRANK TAFOYA, 84, a resident of Santa Clara Pueblo, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2011 following a short illness. He was preceded in death by his father, Augustine Tafoya; mother, Clarita Naranjo; brothers, Julian and Juan Tafoya and sister, Pasqualita Tafoya. Frank was a Federal Law Officer and Santa Clara Canyon Ranger. He worked for the New Mexico Forestry Department and Cook’s True Value for several years before his retirement. His hobbies included bull riding in the 1960’s, He was a Champion Bull Rider in 1962 and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, the outdoors and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family. Mr. Tafoya is survived by his wife, Rosalie Tafoya; daughter, Clarissa Tafoya Roller and husband Tim; grandchildren, Tyler and Jazmin Roller; close niece and God-daughter, Angie Willow; close niece, Ginger Phillips; niece, Shirley Suazo; nephew, Pat Tafoya and numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the Clarissa Tafoya-Roller Residence in Santa Clara Pueblo. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 9, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at the Santa Clara Pueblo Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Santa Clara Pueblo Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Tyler Roller, Kenneth Tafoya, Lucas Willow, Pat and Stan Tafoya and Bernie and Steve Teba.
