Nambe/Coyote

Francisco Joseph Romero, 19, embraced in loving care and prayers by his family, passed to his eternal heavenly home on December 27, 2024. Francisco, also affectionately known as Cisco or Ponch, was born in Taos, New Mexico, on June 4, 2005, to Michelle Trujillo and Jeremy Romero.

Francisco graduated with honors from Pojoaque Valley High School in 2023 and attended New Mexico Tech in Socorro, New Mexico. Francisco was recently employed as an apprentice electrician in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Francisco was a loving, kind, and caring son, stepson, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, boyfriend, and friend; he is immensely loved and will be dearly missed. We will always cherish the profound and highly intelligent conversations we shared with Francisco and witnessing the way his brilliant mind worked in gaming, electronics, and puzzles. The love he had for his soulmate brother Santiago, his girlfriend Anna, his family, and his friends is beautiful and eternal, and brings much consolation to his loved ones’ hearts.

Francisco was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents Arturo and Miquela Romero, and Patrocinio and Amada Romero; maternal great-grandparents Felix and Gloria Garcia, Ernesto Trujillo Sr., Frank and Alice Bitsui; great-aunts and great-uncles Darlene and Vincent Garcia, Efilene B. Skeet, Mascarenes F. Bitsui, and Waldo Trujillo; and cousins Isaiah Garcia, Ferdinand Poyer, and Shaina Etcitty.

Francisco is survived by his mother, Michelle Trujillo; his father and stepmother, Jeremy and Kalmy Romero; his brothers, Santiago, Jeremiah, Cielo, and Amado Romero; his maternal grandparents, Gabriel and Rosie Trujillo; his paternal grandparents, Jerry Romero and Barbara Romero; his aunts, Melanie Skeet, Jennifer Romero, and Shar Jimenez; his uncles, Nakai Davis, Jason (Katixa) Romero, and Joseph (Rachel) Romero; his cousins, Dominique and Dymond Skeet, Miquela and Marissa Martinez, Quella (Justin) Gooch, Nicholas Garcia, Noelle (Adam) Jackson, Amélie Romero-Jimenez, Nautica and Capri Gooch, Mateo Ponce, Sophia Romero, Aven Jackson, and Noah Garcia; his stepfamily, Rob, Sage, and James Asplund; his godparents, Eric and Veronica Trujillo and Chris and Erica Benegas; and his girlfriend, Anna Sophia Ortiz.

The family extends our deepest gratitude to all the friends, loved ones, and community members who have supported Francisco throughout his journey. We are deeply comforted and sincerely grateful for the outpouring of loving prayers and generous support as we mourn the sudden passing of our beloved Francisco.
