Mrs. Frances R. Romero a resident of Nambe, peacefully passed on to eternal life with Jesus Christ on April 28, 2012. First Born, of ten children, on January 9, 1911 in Cuyamungue, New Mexico. Frances married Jose Ramon Romero of Nambe on October 10, 1932. Her joy was being a wife, a home-maker and raising a family. She attended school with the Sisters of Loretto in Santa Fe, N.M. On “December 8, 1920 en la Congregacion of Pojoaque y Nambe, Francisquita Romero became a member of las “Hijas de Maria de Nuestra Senora Guadalupe.” Her faith in God and her gratitude to God was lived everyday of her 101 years. She was also a member of the Holy Family Society, and a lifelong parishioner of Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe Pojoaque, N.M. She faithfully attended the Sacred Heart of Jesus Mission Church of Nambe. Frances was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jose Ramon Romero; her infant son, Samual; and grandson, Vidal Santos Romero; parents: Jose de Jesus and Beatrice Q. Romero; brothers: Andres, Narcisco and wife Helen, Ernesto, Jose and wife Delia, sisters;, Ursula and husband Joe Ruiz, Abigail and husband Benny Garcia, Genevieve Montoya, Carolina and husband Ted Baldonado; brothers-in-law: Antonio Ortiz and Ted Montoya. Frances is survived by her children, Ramon and wife Toshiko Romero, Annabelle and husband Paul Pando, Wilfred and wife Patty Romero, Bobby Romero and Anna-Marie, Barbara and husband Xavier Alba; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, Robert Cruz, Chase, Sophia, Alana, Rayson, Randy, Reyn, Kevin, Nicholle, Lynette, Veronica, Valarie, Xavior, Caleb, Gracie, Andrew, Jaxon and Emilia; 8 great-great-grandchildren, Kaeo, Makana, Keanu, Reyes, Iliana, Elias, Andres and Jayvin. Surviving her also is her sister, Minnie Ortiz (Antonio); sisters-in-law: Margaret (Andres), Viola (Ernesto), and Teresita Sandoval; brother-in-law, Arturo Romero; and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nambe with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nambe with burial to follow at the Nambe Catholic Cemetery with the members of Sagrado Corazon and SPMDTU serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers named are her grandchildren, Ronnie, Ray, Ramona, Annette, Sandy, Jeffrey, Wilfred Jr., Robert, Frances, Mario and Alisa. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to, Religious Education Department at Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque. The families of Frances R. Romero express their gratitude to the staff and the residence of Espanola Rehabilitation and Nursing Home and to Dr. Kathleen Maley for their love, gentle care and friendship. God’s blessings to all of you who so kindly prayed for her or visited our mother at her home in Nambe, or in her one year and two month’s stay, at her home in the Espanola nursing home. A sincere thank you to all priests’ in her life, lately Fr. Flavio Santillanes and Fr. Larry Brito for giving her life giving Sacraments and helping her to live her words of “God above all else.” The family of Frances R.
