Francesquita (Kika/Pancha) Lopez, 95, a resident of El Rito, went peacefully with our Lord on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 surrounded by her family. Francesquita was born August 1, 1918 in Canjilon New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Delfinia Romero; first husband Ambrosio Martinez, second husband Bernardino Lopez; brothers, Fermin Romero, Albino Romero, sisters, Sabia Lopez, Aldolfa Manzanares, and Frutousa Leyba; her loving daughter, Amelia Martinez and spouse Mike. Francisquita was a devoted Catholic With a strong faith and love for God that she never let go of. Francisquita is survived by two brothers, Arturo Romero, Hignio and wife Elisida Romero; six children, sons, Ambrosio Martinez and wife Simona, Andres Lopez and wife Joann, George Lopez and wife Rosemary; daughters, Eva Martinez and husband Danny, Rosie Lucero and husband David, Marvin Dent, nephew she considered as a son, Greg Leyba. Kika was blessed with 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at the El Rito Catholic Church, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 4, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the El Rito Catholic Church, with a burial to follow at the Rosario Cemetery in Santa Fe, with the following serving as pallbearers, Steve Martinez, Robert Martinez, Randy Martinez, Cesario Lopez, James Lucero, George Lopez Jr., Leroy Lopez, and Martin Martinez, honorary pallbearers, Leslie, Lisa, Valarie, Melissa, Danielle, Kimberly, April, and all her great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. The family of Francesquita Lopez has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley. \r\n
