Frances Martinez, 95, a resident of Cordova, passed away peacefully at home with her family. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Esequiel Martinez; sister, Elena Romero, brothers, Fidel Sandoval. Frances was second oldest of seven. She was married to Esequiel Martinez and had two children JR and Gloria.
She was an active Assembly of God member in Truchas and enjoyed singing hymns at church. She loved animals especially her beloved dog, Daisy.
She loved her garden especially her rosa castilla. She enjoyed dancing with her grandchildren and was always asking for candy. Frances is survived by her son, JR Martinez and wife Darlene, Gloria Terry and husband John granddaughters, Joyce Casad and husband Mike, Jennifer Martinez and partner Molly; grandsons, Jamie Martinez and wife Ellie, Justin Terry and wife Emily, Adrian Terry and wife Erica, great-grandchildren, Elliana and Romario Martinez; sisters, Elvira Romero, Delia Martinez, brother, Eloy Sandoval. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. - 6:00p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a devotional service to follow at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at Presbyterian Cemetery Cordova, with the following serving as pallbearers, Jamie Martinez, Justin Terry, Ernest Martinez, Walter Sandoval, Modesto Romero and Billy Romero. Reception will be held at the Truchas Baptist Church, 402 County Road 75.
