Floyd Alex - Age 23 - El Rito & Santa Fe Vigil

Floyd Alex Vigil – Age 23 a resident of El Rito and Santa Fe passed away unexpectedly on November 12, 2011 of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Floyd was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Jose Waldo and Carlota Maestas; his paternal grandparents: Frank Sr. and Rosalia Vigil; uncles and aunt: Pat and Daniel Maestas, Pete Vigil, Erineo and Tive Lopez. He was born December 18, 1987 in Española to Elfego and Ida Vigil. At the time of his death Floyd was employed at the Española Valley Nursing and Rehab Center where he was a licensed Practical Nurse. He was also a full time student at Northern New Mexico College where he was studying to become a registered nurse. Floyd is survived by his parents: Elfego and Ida Vigil of El Rito; brother, Virgil Vigil of Sacramento, CA; sisters: Jessica Vigil of Clovis and Stacy Vigil of Santa Fe; brother-in-law, Frankie Cruz; nephew, Isaiah Cruz; niece, Isabella Cruz; family friend, David Staugaard of Clovis; close friend, Bruce Ramos of Los Lunas; aunts and uncles: Frank Vigil, Jr. and wife Martha of El Rito, Lorenza Sandoval and husband Ramon of Arroyo Seco, Dennis Maestas of Arroyo Seco, Sally Maestas of Denver, CO, Mary Velasquez and husband Elmer of Cañones, Henry, Emery and Frank Maestas of Ranchitos and Joe Maestas and companion Socorro of Ranchitos and Mary Maestas of Arroyo Seco; Vianes Vigil and wife Sandy of Englewood, CA, Ernie Vigil and wife Bennie of San Bernardino, CA, Santiago Vigil and wife Debbie of Anaheim, CA, Albert Vigil and wife Inez of Anaheim, CA and Elsie Vigil of El Rito; and numerous cousins, special friends and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, November 19, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home with a devotional service to be held at 7:00 p.m. Graveside service will take place on Monday, November 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the El Rito Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers will be: Joey Vigil, Johnny Gallegos, Jason Velasquez, Emery Maestas, Danny Vigil, David Staugaard and Frankie Cruz. Serving as honorary pallbearers: Isaiah Cruz and Isabella Cruz.
