In loving memory of Flor Sylvestre Leija de Avila of Española, NM, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012, at the age of 52. Flor is survived by her husband Roberto; children: Claudia, Evelynne, Elizavet, Adrie and Ruth; siblings: Rosa, Jose Ernesto, Alma Leticia, Luciano and Jose; Flor’s final resting place will be the Lighthouse Cemetery in Chimayo, NM. Flor may have been small in stature but she was big in heart. We love you very much mom. “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.” John 11:25. Public visitation will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a wake to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Church in El Llano with burial to follow at Lighthouse Cemetery in Chimayo with the following serving as pallbearers: Adam, Dorian, Abram and Jesse Avila; honorary pallbearers: Julio Avila and Edgar Santos.
