Floripe - Age 97 - Los Ojos - Mercure

Floripe Mercure – Age 97, our beloved mother, sister, aunt and grandmother, was a lifelong resident of Los Ojos, NM passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2011. She was born on February 6, 1914 and passed away only three days after her 97th birthday. Floripe was a beloved housewife who cared for her children and extended family members all of her adult life. She derived enjoyment from playing bingo, baking and during the fall months enjoyed picking piñon and being outdoors. Floripe Mercure was preceded in death by her parents, Crisanta Trujillo and Miguel Aguilar; husband, Eduardo Mercure; brothers: Don and Miguel Aguilar; daughter-in-law, Gloria Mercure; granddaughter, Jane Gallegos; grandsons: David Mercure, Chris Casias and Vr Jr. Martinez. She is survived by her children: Jose Onil Mercure of Denver, CO; Miguel Mercure and his wife Annie of Denver, CO; Ercilia Mercure of Los Ojos; Aurelia Gallegos and her husband Ralph of Chama; Vicente Mercure and his wife Baudelia of La Puente; Delfin Mercure and his wife Sylvia of Los Brazos; Crisanta Martinez and her husband Virginio of Plaza Blanca; Virginia Mercure of Española; Roberto Mercure of Plaza Blanca; sister, Irene Mercure of Rutheron; brother, Cruz Aguilar and his wife Gregorita of Rutheron; 27 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 7 great great-grandchildren that she loved dearly, with many other nieces, nephews and special friends. The family is very blessed to have spent so many wonderful years and joyous times with out mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. Public visitation will be held on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. the San Jose Catholic Church in Los Ojos with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by the Hermanos de la Morada de la Puente. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the San Jose Catholic Church in Los Ojos with burial to follow at Los Ojos Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers her grandsons: Michael, Eugene, Vicente and Anthony Mercure, Santiago Martinez, Eliseo (Cheo) Gallegos and Julian Money; honorary pallbearers, include all her grand, great and great great-grandchildren.
