Florence Theresa - Age 52 - Ojo Caliente - Trujillo

Florence Theresa Trujillo, 52, a resident of Ojo Caliente, formerly of Rio Chiquito, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 24, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Martinez; father, Reyes Trujillo; brother, Praxedes Martinez; nephew, Anthony Martinez; maternal grandparents, Fedelina and Joe Valdez; paternal grandparents, Marcos and Higina Trujillo; close relative, Manuelita Martinez, plus other aunts and uncles. Theresa loved weaving, visiting the Santuario, and listening to Northern New Mexico music. Her favorite past time was reading and studying the Bible. She loved to make her friends and family laugh, always putting a smile on everyone’s face. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Theresa is survived by her children, Rose Marie Valdez and husband Matthew of Ojo Caliente, Charlene Martinez and husband Alex of Woodward, Oklahoma and Reyes Cisneros and companion Nneka Trujillo of Taos; mother, Filomena Martinez of San Pedro; brothers, Dennis Trujillo, Jeff Martinez and companion Marilyn Trujillo all of Española and Manuelita Brito and husband Larry of Dixon; sisters, Diana Martinez and companion Don Garcia of Santa Fe and Yvonne Quintana and husband Nathan of Española; grandchildren, Larry Trujillo, Samantha Valdez, Isaiah Valdez, Tiana Martinez, Gary Marino, Aaliyah Marino, Josiah Martinez, Kayla Valdez and Amelie Martinez; God-parents, Josie Medina of Dixon and Gilbert Trujillo of Chimayo; close nephew, Jeffery Martinez, Jr. of Española as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Monday, October 27, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a devotional service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Seventh Day Adventist Church located at 613 Bond Street in Española. Burial to follow at the Rio Chiquito Cemetery with the following serving the family as pallbearers, Larry Trujillo, Jeffery Martinez, Jeffery Martinez, Jr., Freddie Medina, Clarence Medina, Nathan Quintana, Jr., Dennis Trujillo and Nicholas Gasca. The family of Florence Theresa Trujillo has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
