Flavio Armijo Jr. - Courtesy Obituary Announcement

d. June 17, 2015

Flavio Armijo Jr. a current resident of El Paso, Texas and formerly of Chimayo passed away on June 17th after a long illness. Mr. Armijo was preceded in death by his parents Flavio and Josefina Armijo, maternal grandparents Francisco and Rita Ortega. He is survived by his wife Lisa, 4 sons whom he cherished and loved dearly, Flavio Armijo III of Orlando, Florida, Franciso, Don and Manuel of the family home in El Paso, his sister, Priscilla Rocha of Las Vegas Nevada, special nephews, Jerome Rocha (Kelli) of Albuquerque and Bonifacio Rocha of Las Vegas Nevada, his mother in-law, Lorraine De Vargas (Guero) from Chimayo, sister in-law, Barbara De Vargas of Albuquerque, and grandmother in-law Belia Garduño from Chimayo whom he was very close to, and special friends, Leroy Fresquez from Chimayo, and Raul Moran from El Paso, Texas. As a young adult Flavio enjoyed going for wood with his father and would always talk about the close relationship they had. His most cherished memory was that of a child when he was taken care of by  a very special aunt, Marcelina Trujillo who spoiled him and called him “EL Burro Maletero” because he like to browse through the grocery bags whenever his mother and aunt would come home from a shopping excursion. Flavio was always bragging about his nephews (Jerome and Bonifacio) and saying how proud he was to see them grow up into fine young men and staying away from the drug scene. He was especially proud of Jerome for establishing a very successful motorcycle business (Southwest Choppers). The one event that made him cry was when his sister (Priscilla) called him to tell him she had earned her doctorate degree in Educational Leadership. He had a brother relationship with his sister’s husband (Amo), and he would visit him in Las Vegas, Nevada on a regular basis. Flavio had a passion for working on cars and painting them. He served in the Armed Forces and did a tour in Germany.
Funeral Arrangements are pending.
