Filemon Romero, 87, a resident of Truchas passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nabor and Octaviana Romero; 2 sisters: Cora Sandoval and Ernestina Romero; brother, Ramon Romero; numerous other relatives. Filemon is survived by his wife, Cruzita Romero of Truchas; son, Lee Romero and wife Irene of Truchas; daughter, Anita Torres and husband Henry of Albuquerque; step-daughters raised as his own: Linda Barela of Truchas, Lisa Roybal and husband Matthew of Chimayo; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers: Isabro Romero and wife Rosina, Joe Romero, Nabor Romero and wife Oclides; sister-in-law, Elsie Barela; brother-in-law, Richard Barela; numerous other loving relatives & friends. Private service will be held at a later date. The family of Filemon Romero have entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
