Fidencia "Fede" de Barela

FIDENCIA “FEDE” CORDOVA de BARELA, 92, a longtime resident of Truchas, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Isidoro and Leonardita Barela; sister, Hope Lopez; brother, Gilbert Barela; beloved daughters, Sarah and Isabel Cordova and grandchildren. Fede had a compassionate, loving and open heart and kept God next to her side in her everyday life. Her love was genuine and she was sure to show that. Fede enjoyed spending quality time with her sister, Susie, as well as each one of her children and their families and friends. Her welcoming arms brought people into her life from near and far. Ms. Cordova is survived by her sister, Susie Barela; children, Cecilia Gonzales and husband Sam, Sammy Cordova and wife Irma, Kathey Montoya and husband Rick, Rosendo Cordova and wife Rosario, Susan Abeyta, Medardo Cordova, Bobby Cordova and wife Carol, and Carol McNeil; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a devotional service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Truchas Baptist Church. Burial to follow at Los Llanitos Cemetery in Truchas with the following serving as pallbearers, Rayben Sandoval, Sammy Cordova, Jr., Darell Trujillo, Joshua Cordova, Emmanuel Abeyta, Isaiah Valdez and Delbert “Nez” Romero. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
