RAMON FERNANDO ELEDO VALENCIA DE GOMEZ, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2013 following a brief illness. He was born May 29, 1936 in El Rancho, son of Ramon and Stella Valencia. Fernando was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold and Philly Jo; sister, Ida Ortiz; and grandparents, Elfego and Candelarita Gomez. Fernando graduated from the Colorado School of Mines and worked with numerous mining concerns prior to opening his own business, International Ground Support Systems, Inc, in 1972. He traveled and worked extensively in Europe, Latin America, South America, and Canada, as well as the US. IGSS had notable projects In Lake Placid, NY, Washington, DC, Trementina, NM, and Petrolia, CA. Mr. Valencia is survived by his wife, Araceli Valencia and leaves his five sons, Larry, Edmond, Fernando, Walter, and David; also leaves five daughters, Sandra Koehler, Valerie Carter, Annie Valencia, Nadine Valencia, and Stella Valencia; brother, Flavio Valencia and wife Pita; brothers-in-law, Raymundo and Raul Peña; sisters, Yolanda Apodaca and husband Ruben, and Delores Tano; uncle, Elfego Gomez, Jr. and wife Elsie; aunt, Emma Valencia, as well many grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Services will be in El Rancho. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in El Rancho with a Mass of Christian burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at the El Rancho Catholic Cemetery. The family of Ramon Fernando Eledo Valencia de Gomez has entrusted the care of their beloved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory of the Espanola Valley. \r\n
