Ferminio M. Valdez, passed away peacefully at age 80 on May 14, 2024. Born in Coyote, NM, on July 09, 1943.
Fermie was preceded in death by parents Merejildo and Emilia; siblings Avenilde Lopez (Jose), Pedro, Vidal (Poly), Josephine Martinez (Raymond), Sergen Martinez (Eustavio-Gus), Delfinio (Consuelo); special Sister-in-Law Cecilia Ortiz (Art).
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Julia; sons Jerome (Angela) and Jeremy; grandchildren Brennan, Kyla, Norissa, and Ayden; sister-in-law Teresina; brothers-in-law Frank and Jose Olivas (Barbara); former daughter-In-law Tracy; beloved friends Phil Garcia and Tony Trujillo.
Fermie was a dedicated owner of Valdez Accounting Service that provided tax and accounting services to all Northern New Mexico communities and businesses as well as surrounding states.
Fermie is remembered fondly for his humble attitude, patience, sense of humor, caring demeanor, and being an avid Dallas Cowboy, LA Lakers, and NY Yankees fan. During the past few years, the family went on back-to-back trips to take him to AT&T Stadium for the Thanksgiving games and one last trip to Las Vegas, NV, where he enjoyed playing the poker machines. Fermie always went out of his way to help someone out whether it was to provide a helping hand with yard work, giving friendly financial advice, or just being a great listener. He will always be remembered in his community as a beloved businessman, loving husband and father, and trustworthy friend.
Note: Per our Dad’s wishes, we will not be having any Rosary or Funeral services. A Celebration of Life will be held for the family at a later date.
