FELIZ SALAZAR – of Española, NM was born on November 5, 1945 in Rio Chiquito, NM. She went home to be with the Lord, Jesus Christ on December 29, 2010. She was preceded in death by her Father Estevan Trujillo and Mother Clarita Trujillo. Feliz was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, friend, and tia. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz, and served regularly at the San Martin de Porres Soup Kitchen in Española. Feliz was the perfect name for her because she was always happy. She was known for her infectious laugh and beautiful smile. She loved spending time and playing games with her family, traveling with her husband, and reading and writing in her spare time. She was a business woman who worked for 40 years in the insurance business and owned A.F. Salazar Insurance Agency for 21 years until she retired in 2007. She is survived by her husband Alfonso Salazar; her daughter Anna Salazar of Albuquerque, NM, son John Paul Salazar of Albuquerque NM, son Michael Salazar of Colorado Springs, CO, and daughter Donna Valdez and spouse Oliver Valdez of Nambe, NM; grandchildren Christina Valdez and Christal Valdez also of Nambe, NM; her sister Marie and spouse Jake Vigil, sister Lucy and spouse Juan Trujillo, brother Nestor and spouse Nora Trujillo, brother Toby and spouse Elsie Trujillo, and her twin brother Julian and spouse Helen Trujillo, all of northern New Mexico; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all who have prayed so diligently for Feliz over the past few months. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, NM. Interment will follow at the Rio Chiquito Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Ronnie Vigil, Javier Vigil, Vernon Trujillo, Peter Trujillo, Sammy Trujillo and Julio Trujillo.
