Felix Agustin Salazar, 85, formerly of Velarde and a resident of Espanola, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2016. Felix was preceded in death by his parents, Flavio and Reyesitas Salazar. Felix served in the United States Air Force and was a retired educator of the Espanola Public Schools. He taught generations of students, including his own sons and relatives, and he had a passion for history and science. During his summer months off from school, he enjoyed tending to his garden and fruit trees. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing and found peace and comfort being in the mountains. He is survived by his wife, Frances Salazar; sons, Jesse (Martha) and Richard (Neomi) Salazar of Espanola; daughter, Theresa (Greg) Rowell of Plano, TX; grandchildren, Jesse (Denise) Salazar, Gabriel Salazar, Heather (Mike) Lopez, Lexus Salazar, Hannah Salazar, and Lauren and Anna Rowell; great-grandchildren, Ricardo Salazar, Caleb Salazar, Gabriela Salazar, Liam Lopez and Eden Lopez; and great-great-granddaughter Lyla Salazar. He is also survived by his siblings Angelina (Fidel) Gutierrez, Orlando (Sarah) Salazar, Flavio (Anna Mae) Salazar, Ted (Ida) Salazar, Nestor (Corrine) Salazar; and many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. Devotional service will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Victory Faith Church in Española. Honorary pallbearers will be all his grandchildren. The family of Felix A.
