My beloved husband Felix Romero, 66, of La Mesilla, departed this world on Thursday, February 5, 2015, which leaves a great void in my life, but I am comforted by the knowing that he is with his Creator and the Angels, and that we will meet again. His family was by his side when he passed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amarante and Anita Romero; sister, Linda Franco; and nephew, Roland Pacheco. He served our country with pride and honor as a Combat Veteran of the Vietnam War and was an honorably discharged Sargent of the United States Army. He worked in California, Colorado, and New Mexico where he retired after 29 years of service from Los Alamos National Labs. Felix is survived by his wife, Monika Romero; daughter, Misty Garcia and husband Jorge of Colorado, son, Michael Mathes and wife Eva of Artesia; brothers, John Romero and wife Vita of Colorado, Tito Romero of Albuquerque, Nelson Romero and wife Esther of Española; sister, Maria Angelina Arguello of California, Lillian Lopez of Rodarte, Mary Garcia of La Mesilla, Loren Pacheco of Espanola, Patsy Roybal and husband Patrick of Denver, Co; grandchildren, Bryan, Michael, Natalie, Anthony, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Felix had many family members and friends who loved him dearly. He had a big heart, loved to sing and dance and be with family, Felix will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
