FELIX EDUARDO TRUJILLO, 81, a resident of Española, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 18, 2011 with his family by his side. Felix received his Bachelor’s degree in 1955 and his Master’s degree in 1974. He was a teacher with the Espanola Public Schools for 35 years, and he also taught at the Northern New Mexico Technical-Vocational College for 5 years. Felix served as Grand Knight with the Espanola Valley Knights of Columbus Council 3314 for 2 years. As a woodwork/industrial arts instructor, Felix enjoyed working with wood and he refurbished the Stations of the Cross at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and built many things. Felix was a member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW, American Legion, Los Padres Assembly, National Retired Educator’s Association, Sacred Heart Finance Committee and served as an usher and taught catechism at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church for many years. . He was preceded in death by his wife, Corine of 51 years; parents, Isabel and Eduardo Trujillo; sister, Gaby Jensen; brother, Nestor Trujillo and Grandma Rafaelita Trujillo who he was raised by. Mr. Trujillo is survived by his children, Armando Trujillo and wife Edith of Abiquiu, Felix “Punky” Trujillo and Arlene, Yolanda Trujillo, Ernesto Trujillo and wife Dora all of Española; grandchildren, Andria Mae, Dana Andre and wife Fran, Amanda Marie, Jerod and wife Priscilla, Cruz, Isaac, Alissa and Joaquin Trujillo; great-grandchildren, Donny Lee and Dylan Ethan Romero, Kayla Vigil and Kayden Marie Trujillo, Ryan Quintana, Jazilyn Corine, Jacob Felix and Brayden Trujillo; brothers and sisters, Esequiel Trujillo of Taos, Alice Griego and husband Cresencio of Albuquerque, Bertha Romero and husband Lalo of Taos, Dora Lucero and husband Edmundo of Santa Fe, Luisa Martinez of Santa Fe, Andreita Rodriguez of Clovis, CA, Fidel Trujillo and wife Linda of Española, Leonard Trujillo and wife Rose of Taos; brothers and sister-in-law, Juan I. Mondragon and Tommy of Albuquerque, Eva Mondragon of Leadville, CO, and Juan Abeyta of Taos; and numerous other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Monday, November 21, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Española. Burial will follow at 11:15 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following grandsons and granddaughters serving as pallbearers, Andria Mae, Dana Andre, Jerod, Amanda, Cruz, Isaac, Alissa and Joaquin Trujillo. The immediate family would like to thank all the family, friends, and nursing staff that expressed their love, kindness, prayers, visits and amazing service at the Española Hospital also a special thanks to Vista Care Hospice for all their support. Special thanks to Andria Mae, Amanda Marie and Joaquin for the endless hours spent by grandpa Felix’s side at the hospital.
