Felimon Sandoval, Jr.

Our beloved dad, FELIMON SANDOVAL JR. “EL LECHERO ” passed away, on Friday, August 23, 2019.  Dad had many passions; he was a song writer of corridos and a composer of dichos, and loved playing guitar and singing.  He was a skilled cement mason and construction craftsman.  Felimon was dedicated to his children.  Retirement was spent enjoying his family.  One of his many prized projects included restoring his childhood home to a History Museum together with his daughter, later to be interviewed and photographed by NM Magazine and receiving a Historical Individual Award from the State of NM.  Felimon was preceded in death by his grandmother, Fernanda Pacheco; parents, Felimon Sr. & Anita Sandoval & his brother, Nick Sandoval (Anita Lancaster).  He is survived by his children, Dean (Michelle), Curtis (Tina), Eric, Anna (Anthony), Darren (Cecilia), Leslie (Mike), and their mother, Annie B. Sandoval (deceased), Jeremy (Melanie); sister, Marcella, and their mother, Ella Lujan; brother, Flaymon; sisters, Esther & Dora; 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, & many other relatives & friends. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 30 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Truchas. Burial to follow at Los Llanitos Cemetery in Truchas with the following serving as pallbearers, Dean, Curtis, Eric, Darren, Jeremy, & grandson Aaron.  Honorary pallbearers will be his sons-in-law, Mike & Anthony; daughters-in-law; Michelle, Tina, Cecil, Melanie, & grandchildren, Amanda, John, Rachel, Amber, Ashley, Julia, Benjamin, Brandon, Alysha, Erika, Donovan, Sean, Isabelle, & Marissa.  His family would like to thank Dr. Coquia & staff as well as the Home Healthcare of Española for their services.  The family of Felimon Sandoval, Jr. has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
