Federico Lovato

FEDERICO M. LOVATO, 95, a resident of La Mesilla, passed away at his residence on Sunday, December 16, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Celia V. Lovato; parents, Juan Rafael and Maria Luz Lovato; siblings, Medardo Lovato (Simosea), Angelica Aragon (Emiliano), Isaque Lovato (Margarita), Eva Velasquez (Genaro), Patrocinia Serrano (Aquliano), Norman Lovato (Manuelita) and Emilia Martinez (Facundo); father and mother -in-law, Manuel and Juanita Valdez; siblings –in -law, Manuelita Trujillo, Amelia Martinez, Esuequio Valdez, Irene Trujillo, and Rosabel Archuleta.  Mr. Lovato grew up in Cañones. He served his country as a Corporal First Airborne in 1943 in the Army in WWII. Mr. Lovato is survived by his children, Freddie Lovato (Dolores), Mary Jane Martinez (Dennis), Manuel Lovato (Pauline), Johnny Lovato (Antonette), Mary Lou Lovato (Ronnie), Martha Carol Herrera (Martin), Anthony Lovato (Theresa), Cynthia Bustos (Rodney), Patricia Babich (Harold); 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; siblings-in-law, Leandro and Vangie Valdez, Rosalia Velasquez and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in Española. Burial to take place on Friday, December 21, 2018 at 9:45 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are his grandchildren, Christopher Lovato, Jeremy Martinez, Joshua Lovato, Elias War, Isaiah Fresquez, Monica Lovato, Jayson Bustos, and Brandon Lovato, honorary pallbearers will be the rest of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
