Faustino "Gibby" - age 59 - Chimayo Sherwood

Faustino “Gibby” Sherwood, 59, a resident of Chimayo, passed away of a lengthy illness on Saturday, June 14, 2014. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sostena and Juan C. Trujillo, Jack and Helen Sherwood, Patrocinia and Octavio Martinez; father, Jack Kenneth Sherwood; nephew, Robert M. Trujillo Jr., and Kevin Scott Romero. Gibby was a hardworking man who helped anyone in need. He loved gardening and listening to Spanish music and spending time with his constant companion, his dog “Brownie”. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Gibby is survived by his mother, Mabel Sherwood; siblings, Erma Montoya (Charlie), Carlos Sherwood (Susie), Judith Sherwood, Della Sherwood (Lionel), Dennis, Albert, Debbie, Wayne (Connie), Patty, Sammy, Leroy, and Corrine Sherwood-Martinez, Jerry Martinez, Michael and Yolanda Sherwood, and his constant companion, his dog “Brownie”. A devotional service will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a burial to follow at the Presbyterian Cemetery in Chimayo. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Mike Sherwood, Rodney Bustos, Jerry Martinez Jr., Anthony Ruiz, Kieth Romero, and Patrick Martinez, honorary pallbearers named are Willie Vigil, Earl Sherwood, Silas Dominguez, and Danny Vigil. The family of Faustino “Gibby” Sherwood has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n
