Faby Martinez

FABY MARTINEZ, 88, a resident of Chimayo and originally of El Rito passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016, with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, Erminio Martinez; parents, Maclovio and Margarita Lopez; siblings, Ernestina Ortiz, Clorinda Gallegos, Juan Lopez and Sarah Varos; sister-in-law Georgia Martinez; and uncle Eutimio Lopez. Her interests included cooking, canning, gardening and the outdoors. She devoted much of her time and energy to her family and her faith. Faby is survived by her sister, Grace and husband Adonis Archuleta of Los Lunas; sister, Elisaida and Hignio Romero of Albuquerque; sister-in-law, Cidelia Miera; children, Kathy and husband Phillip Gonzales Sr. of Chimayo; Roberta and husband Joseph Vigil of Chili; and David Martinez of Chimayo; grandchildren, Phillip Gonzales Jr. and wife Kimberly of Chimayo; Shaun Gonzales and companion Kristina Jessen of Chimayo; Amanda Salinas and companion Angelo Sandoval of Cordova; Monica Salinas of Chimayo; Albino Salinas V. of Chimayo; Mariah Gonzales and companion Jesus Manuel Zapata of Chimayo; and Raymond Salinas of La Madera; great-grandchildren, Paul Frenier, Alexis Vigil, Esperanza Sandoval, Caleb Gonzales, Isabella Sandoval, Cecillia Gonzales, Jesus Zapata Jr., Phillip Gonzales III and Villaney Zapata; and numerous relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a Public visitation to begin at 6:00 p.m. at Victory Faith Church and a devotional service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Victory Faith Church. Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
