EVA ELIZABETH LOPEZ, 88, a resident of Española passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Albert Lopez; children, Juanita Ann Lopez and Paul Edward Lopez; daughter-in-law, Karen Marie Lopez; father, Antonio M. Martinez; mother, Rebecca Romero Martinez; brothers, Johnny Gallegos, Morelo and Joe Martinez; sisters, Margaret Valdez, Josephine Santistevan, Mary Martinez, Theresa Clemit and Pat Martinez. Mrs. Lopez is survived by her children, Inez Deines and husband Tony of Denver, CO, Rebecca Romero and husband Orlando of Nambe, Michael G. Lopez of Española, Roseanne Ripp and husband Bart of Gig Harbor, WA, Lucille Lopez of Albuquerque, John Lopez and wife Lydia of Albuquerque, Mary Bingham and husband Steve of Colorado Springs, CO, Emmanuel Lopez of Española, Thomas Lopez of Española, Josephine Empey of Los Alamitos, CA, Eva C. Lopez of Centennial, CO, Patty Walker and husband Andy of Colorado, CO, Albert Lopez of Santa Fe, Frances Cotanch and husband Joe of Concord, NC and Cathy Karns and husband Kevin of Santa Fe; 34 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline Dixon of San Diego, CA and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Monday, May 28, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Española with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. also at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Española. Burial to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, John, Emmanuel, Thomas and Mark Lopez, Steve Bingham and Orlando Romero. The family of Eva E. Lopez has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
