Eva Baldonado

EVA BALDONADO, 79, a resident of El Rito, took her last breath on this earth on the early morning of Monday, October 3, 2016 with her family and friends at her side. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Horace J. Baldonado; infant son, Lemuel Baldonado; parents, Amarante and Filomena Valdez; sister, Julia Lopez, brothers, Elizardo and Juan Valdez and wife Rose; brother-in-law, Leo Rivera; son-in-law, Paul Jaramillo. Eva was born on November 18, 1936 in Canjilon to Amarante and Filomena Valdez. She married the love of her life, Horace Baldonado on January 18, 1954. Eva was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, who had a passion for her flowers and garden. She enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with her family and friends. Before her illness she was a Home Health Aide, who took great pride in caring for her clients and was named “Employee of the Month” on several occasions. Eva leaves behind a legacy of LOVE. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. Eva is survived by her sons, Joel Baldonado and wife Mary, Matthew Baldonado and wife Ida both of El Rito, Norbert Baldonado and wife Jeanell from Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Abenicio Baldonado and wife Susie of Las Vegas, NM; daughters, Elva Montoya and husband Rudy of Chili, Bernice McCann and husband John of White Rock, Delilah Baldonado and companion Jimmy Apodaca of Espanola; sisters, Tina Rivera of Canjilon and Getrudes Potrillo and husband Oscar of Albuquerque; brothers, Antonio Valdez and wife Teddy of Canjilon; 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Abran Baldonado and wife Dorothy of Santa Fe; sister-in-law, Bennie Baldonado of El Rito. Public visitation will begin on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a memorial service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a burial to follow at El Rito Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers, Lemuel, Epifanio, Marlena and Abenicio Baldonado, Evan and Isaac Jaramillo, Cory Hauber, and Alex Martinez, honorary pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren.
