Eugenio "Gene" Gerardo Age - 73 - E Sandoval

Eugenio “Gene” Gerardo Sandoval, 73, a resident of El Rancho, born on November 4, 1939 and passed away after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, January 2, 2013. Gene loved his family and loved to spend all his time with them. He and his wife, Helen were inseparable. He loved taking rides all over with his brother, Levi. In his younger years he loved to be on his tractor working in the garden, in the mountains picking piñon, cutting wood, and behind his home picking chimaja. He loved his grandchildren with all his heart. Special thanks to the Giving Staff, especially to Susan for all her care and support. Thank you to all the staff at Ambercare for their support during our dad’s last days. Gene was preceded in death by his father, Ramon Sandoval; mother, Teresita Tafoya; step-father, Juan Tafoya; grandparents: Cresenciano and Guadalupita Roybal, Jose and Paublita Sandoval. Gene is survived by his wife, Helen Sandoval; children: Denise and Matthew Rivera, Gina Sandoval and David Martinez, Cresenciano Sandoval and Stephanie Crosby, Kristie Sandoval and James Perea; grandchildren: Santiago Rivera and Kristen Martinez, Estevan Rivera, Toby Perea and Kaleb Rivera; brother, Levi and Patsy Sandoval; sister, Elda and Mike Childers; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and other loving relatives & friends. Public visitation will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque with burial to take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. with the following serving as pallbearers: Ray Sandoval, Lino Ortiz, David Roybal, Troy Childers, Dennis and Donald Ortiz.
