Eugene R. Martinez Jr., age 33, a resident of Alcalde, passed away on Wednesday, December 6th 2017. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene R. Martinez Sr.; paternal family; grandfather, Nestor Martinez; great-grandparents, Benancio and Lugarda Martinez; Emedmardo and Sophia Lopez; aunts and uncles; Janelle and Joseph Martinez, Nestor Martinez Jr.; cousin, Robin A. Martniez; maternal family; grandfather, Joe G. Lopez Jr.; uncles, Moritz and Greg Lopez. Eugene is survived by his loving son, Bentley Martinez; mother, Cindy Lopez and companion Chris Quintana; maternal grandmother, Katie Lopez; paternal grandmother who was like his mother, Sylvia Martinez; aunts and uncles, Susan and Joe Maestas, Kathy Martinez, Joseph and Lisa Lopez, Christa Lopez; cousins, Monica Martinez, Joseph Martinez (Rose Mary), Doreen, Melody, Jose, Moritz and Samantha Lopez, Jacob Oriz, Janelle Martinez, Sebastian Martinez, Louisiana Martinez, Jessie Juliette and Elijah Trujillo; as well as numerous other loving relatives and friends. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh, followed with a burial at the Alcalde Cemetery. The family of Eugene R. Martinez Jr. has entrusted the care of their beloved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
