EUFEMIA S. MAESTAS, 86, a resident of Chili, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2015. Born August 18, 1928 in Medanales she was the daughter of Gregorio and Josephita Salazar who preceded her in death as well as her special beloved grandfather, Pedro “Papa Pete” Salazar; sister, Prescillana Garcia; brother, Gregorio Salazar; sister-in-law, Onfre Salazar; daughter-in-law, Linda Joe Gonzales Maestas and her daughter, Letesia, Enriques and Adelina Maestas, Benito Maestas, Carolta and Luke, sister-in-law, Mercy Maestas; parents-in-law, Felipe and Julianita Maestas. Mrs. Maestas is survived by her husband of 68 years, Santiago Maestas; sons, Lionel of Chili, James and wife Annie, Elmo and wife Vicki all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Phillip, Jennifer, Tommy, Jeremy and Robert; great-grandchildren, Mateo, Gavin, Garrett, Diego and Ryne; beloved niece, Lillian Maestas; sister, Angelina Maestas; brother and sisters-in-law, Polly Tainter, Elvey Gizentanner, Johnny Maestas, Theresa Espinoza and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. also at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española. Burial to follow at 12:45 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Phillip, Jeremy, Tommy, Robert and Joseph Maestas, Robert Tainter and Alfonso Martinez.
