EUFEMIA JACQUEZ, 81, a resident of Gallina, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2014. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Irene Jacquez; parents, Sergio and Adelina Chacon; sons-in-law, Richard Branch and Mike Bangert; grandson, Derrick Jacquez and great-grandson, Gary Morfin, Jr. Mrs. Jacquez is survived by her husband of 65 years, Eliseo Jacquez; children, Delfin Jacquez (Rita), Olivia Riley (Greg), Lisa Becker (Marv), Michael Jacquez (Maria), Julie Bangert, Judy Cordova (Ray), Yvette Van Zanten (Jeff) and Toby Jacquez (Melanie); brothers, Joe Chacon (Celina), Fulgencio Chacon (Ida), Cosme Chacon (Margie) and JB Chacon (Marie); sisters, Tillie Jacquez (Pete), Delma Cordova (Don), Vangie Valdez (Leandro) and MaryAnn Maestas (Gabriel, Jr.); 20 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Monday, October 13, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Gallina with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christain burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. also at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Gallina. Burial to follow at the Gallina Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Dion, Joshua and Miguelito Jacquez, Jeremy Trujillo, Kevin Branch, Kristopher Cordova, Gary Morfin and Derek Van Zanten. Honorary pallbearers named are, Eric Jacquez, Lucas and Tim Trujillo and Anthony Martinez. The family of Eufemia Jacquez has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
