ESTHER ARCHULETA, 65, a resident of El Rito, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded and comforted by her beloved family on the afternoon of Saturday, July 16, 2016 after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Caroline Kotter; mother and father-in-law, Filimon and Ernestine Archuleta; sisters-in-law, Annie Valdez and Linda Romero. Esther was born on August 31, 1950 in the Netherlands. She came to the United States with her parents when she was 6 years old.  She met her husband, Neddie Archuleta, Sr. in Fremont California in 1969 and they were married in 1970. Esther loved to garden and spend time outdoors and was also an avid cook. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Esther will be sorely missed by everyone that knew her. But greater than the sorrow of her death is the joy that she spread in her life.   Her wisdom and love will continue to guide and inspire each one of her children and grandchildren throughout their lives. Mrs. Archuleta is survived by her husband of 46 years, Neddie Archuleta, Sr.; children, Neddie Archuleta, Jr. and wife Josephine and Apryl and her wife, Nancy; 7 grandchildren, Onesimo, Aliyah Martinez and husband Jose, Riley Lujan, Tristan, Austyn, Justin and Khloe Archuleta; she also leaves behind her beloved sisters, Sylvia and husband Steven Raimand, Ingrid and husband Joe Scolet, Joyce and husband Pat Osterhauf; sisters-in-law, Berlinda Joseph and husband Dan, Bertha Archuleta and husband Larry, Maybel Ocana and husband Lisandro, brothers-in-law, Phil T. Archuletta and wife Rosane, and Greg Trujillo and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends whom she loved dearly. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito, with a meal to follow at the Parish Hall.
