Esther - age 77 - OjoSarco Martinez

Esther Martinez, 77, a resident of Ojo Sarco, passed away of a lengthy Illness on Wednesday, January 7, 2015. Esther was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Martina Armijo; infant daughter, Pricilla and infant son, baby Madrid; nephew Leonard and James Gallegos; son-in-law, Robert Martinez; brother, Jose Cordova and his wife Lydia. Esther loved going to the casino, in her good years she loved weaving, being outdoors, hunting, fishing and cooking. She loved everybody, and would always welcome everyone to her home. The love of her life were her grandkids and her puppy Tiny. Esther is survived by her spouse, Isauro Madrid Sr.; son, Gabie Martinez and wife Esther, daughter, Carol Martinez; sister, Dorothy Gallegos; grandchildren, Freddrick Gallegos, Brian, Ashly, Wanda, and Dorice Martinez, Marissa and Monique Quintana, and Jody and Peggy Perez; Caregiver, Rose; her loving pet Tiny, and many other relatives and family and friends. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday January 14, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday January 15, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Jose Catholic Church in Las Trampas. Burial will follow at the San Jose Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers Freddrick Gallegos, Brian Martinez, Jerry Gallegos, Derrick Rodriguez, Anthony Gallegos, Donald Gallegos, honorary pallbearers Ashly Martinez, Wanda Martinez, Dorice Martinez, Marissa Quintana, Monique Quintana and Peggy Perez. The family of Esther Martinez has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
