Estella Martinez

ESTELLA L. MARTINEZ, 83, a resident of Canjilon, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fidel Martinez; daughter, Sandra Bills; brothers, Isidro, Ignacio, Emiliano, Celedino, Gusman, and Benny Montaño; grandchildren, Nicole and Shawn Martinez and Jeremiah Bennett. Estella was a very strong, independent woman who was very proud of her family. She loved drinking her coffee and eating her quequitos. She enjoyed singing songs such as, Way Downtown, Love You a Bushel and a Peck. Mrs. Martinez is survived by her children, Jerry Martinez and wife Debbie of Blanco, Michael Martinez and wife Diane of Bloomfield, Connie Glover and husband Jeff of Grand Junction, CO, Peggy Bennett of Aztec, Herman Martinez and wife Christine of Española and Fidel Martinez, Jr. and wife Camey of Red Mesa, CO; sisters, Juanita Garcia of Vernal, Utah, Della Ocana and husband Frank and Carmen Mantaño all of Albuquerque; 25 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in Canjilon. Burial to follow at the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Cemetery in Canjilon with the following serving as pallbearers, Justin, Waylon, Jerry, Jr., Garett, Bud and Kenny. Honorary pallbearers will be, Tony, Rob, Eugene, Logan, Deegan. The family of Estella L. Martinez has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory Valley. 505-747-7477
