Estela R. Age - 91 - Española Garcia

Estela R. Garcia – Age 91, a resident of Española passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2013 peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carmen Garcia; parents: Silviano and Carmelita Rodriguez; sisters: Josie Gonzales, Tessie Maestas and Annie Martinez. Estela began her career at the Española Hospital for 15 years, she then served the Española Valley in the restaurant industry until her retirement, cooking was her passion and always had her kitchen open to anyone at anytime. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whom will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her sons: Phil Garcia, Jr. and wife Anella of Kansas City, MO, Oliver P. Garcia and wife Sherry of Combined Locks, WI and Floyd J. Garcia of Española; sister, Cleo Lucero of Las Vegas, NM; grandchildren: Larry Garcia and wife Lisa and Steven Garcia and wife Liz all of Kansas City, MO, Jennifer Bush and husband Mark of Long Beach, MI, Casey Garcia of Combined Locks, WI, Aaron E. Garcia of Española, Nicole R. Garcia and companion Manuel Maldonado and Amy J. Garcia all of Ohkay Owingeh and David Romero, Renee Lopez and husband Oliver and Fernando Romero all of Española; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous other loving relatives and friends. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Española with burial to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery with the following serving the family as pallbearers: Floyd, Aaron E., Steve, and Larry Garcia, Fernando Romero, and Manuel Maldonado. Honorary pallbearer is Rudy Romero. The family of Estela R. Garcia has entrusted the care of their beloved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
