Erwin Archuleta

ERWIN L. ARCHULETA, 59, a resident of Chamita, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 19, 2015. Erwin is preceded in death by his father, Jose Elias Archuleta; nephew, Ivan and Justin Archuleta; uncle, Jose Rosario Gallegos. Erwin loved his Lord and Savior and is now in his Kingdom. He loved serving in the San Miguel Morada and was faithful to his brotherhood of the Hermanos and left a legacy of being a simple but humble man who always helped those in need spiritually. He was a hard worker and loved taking care of his garden and orchard with his daughters. He loved his daughters more than life itself. Erwin is survived by his daughters, Mary Margaret Archuleta of Las Cruces, Elizabeth Latisha Archuleta and Monica K. Archuleta both of Española; mother of his children, Delores Medina of Española; stepdaughter, Ashley Montoya and Andres of Espanola; mother, Mary G. Archuleta; sister, Bernice Atencio and Samuel Jake of Chili, brothers, Frank Archuleta and Guadalupe of Chili and Michael Archuleta and Carmelita of Chamita; Godchildren, Amber Archuleta and Mark Gonzales; nieces and nephews, Angelo Atencio, Audrea Atencio, Arlette Atencio, Christopher Archuleta, Francesca Archuleta; grandchildren, Maya Montoya and Aiden Montoya; special close friends, Michelle Jacquez, Elias and Gloria Valdez; special cousins, Joan Clark, and Phil Salazar and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. at the La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada Catholic Church with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. also at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada Catholic Church, with the burial to follow at the San Pedro Catholic Cemetery in Chamita. Serving the family as pallbearers Elias Valdez, Angelo, Joby, Cory Atencio, Christopher Archuleta, Larry Gallegos, Mary Margaret Archuleta, John Clark and Michael Archuleta, honorary pallbearers, Donald Marquez, Amber Archuleta and Mark Gonzales. The family of Erwin L. Archuleta has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
