ERSIE L. MARTINEZ , 73, a resident of Espanola, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021 of a lengthy illness. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose A. Lopez and Bernie Romero; brothers, Benny Lopez and Dennis Lopez; sisters, Lucille Garcia and Carla DeVargas and many other relatives and friends. She is survived by her husband Eddie Martinez; Daughter, Audrey Martinez, son, Jason Martinez, Grandchildren, Josiah Gurule, Joaquin Martinez, Jacob Martinez and Johnny Herrera; great-grandchildren, Neveah Herrera, Jacob Martinez Jr., Adrianna Herrera and Alryal Herrera; brother-in-law, Chris Martinez and Laverne, and many more relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada.  Burial will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 9:45 a.m. at Santa National Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are Jason Martinez, Jacob Martinez, Johnny Herrera, Jesus Garcia, Crestino Martinez, Joe Nino and Nicolas Garduno.   In lieu of flowers the family has asked donations be given to them for funeral expenses.  The family of Ersie L.
