Ernesto "Ernie" - age 44 - Chimayo Garcia

Ernesto “Ernie” Garcia, 44, a resident of Chimayo, born October 19, 1970 passed away of a short illness on Friday, November 14, 2014. He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Garcia Sr.; brother, Calvin “Polo” Garcia; paternal grandfather, Ismael Garcia Sr., maternal grandparents, Libby and Leo Jaramillo. He was a great father, and he enjoyed spending time with his family and spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting and going for wood. Ernesto is survived by his loving mother, Grace Garcia; paternal grandmother, Rosa Garcia; wife and companion of seven years, Susanna Larranaga Garcia, his four loving children, ShyAnn, Ernesto, Santiago, and Andres Garcia; brothers, Gilbert Garcia Jr. and wife Concha, Steven Garcia and companion Roberta, Horacio Garcia and companion Cassie and Dennis Garcia all of Chimayo, sister, Gina and husband Marvyn Jaramillo of La Madera; his padrino Lionel Garcia; and the late Martha Garcia and many close nieces and nephews and other close relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, with a burial to follow at the Nuestra Señora de Delores Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers Steven Garcia Jr., Nicholas Garcia, Anthony Garcia, Anthony Gordon, and Calvin Jaramillo, honorary pallbearers are Marvyn Jaramillo, Felipe Garcia, Michael Garcia, Alfonso Jaramillo, and Isaiah Romero. The family of Ernesto “Ernie” Garcia has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.\r\n
