Ernesto T. Sandoval, 88, formerly of Cordova and Chimayo, surrounded by his family, went to be with our Lord after struggling with injuries sustained in an automobile accident on March 26, 1958. Mr. Sandoval was born in Cordova, New Mexico, on February 16, 1927, to Santiago and Delfinia Sandoval. He was preceded in death by his parents Santiago and Delfinia Sandoval, sisters Fidelia Sandoval and Juanita Rael, brother-in-law, Archie Medina, four grandchildren Sarah Faith Sandoval, Joseph Levi ‘JoJo’ Martinez, Jessica Angelique Sandoval, and Ike Sandoval. Mr. Sandoval is survived by Louisa Sandoval of Chimayo and their children Ernest and Arturo Sandoval of Chimayo, Tony Sandoval and wife Elaine of Velarde, Isaac Sandoval and wife Cindy of Chimayo, Lucille Sanchez and husband Victor (whom he cherished like a son) of Espanola, his grandchildren, Eric Sandoval and wife Naomi and their children Dylan, Audrina, and Logan, of Rio Rancho, Antoinette Sanchez and husband Norman and their children Norman Anthony and Samantha of Velarde, Beverly Sandoval and fiancé Ivan Lopez of Rio Rancho, Mark Sandoval and his children Aubrey and Marcus of Velarde, and Tara and Maria Sandoval of Chimayo, his Brother Elmer Sandoval and wife Clorinda of Cordova, sisters Rosa Medina of Cordova/Santa Fe and Louise Archuleta of Albuquerque and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, September 24, 2015, at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of Devargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Nuestra Señora de Dolores Cemetery in Chimayo. Serving as pallbearers will be Eric Sandoval, Mark Sandoval, Norman Sanchez, Ivan Lopez, Norman Anthony Sanchez, and Tara Sandoval, honorary pallbearers Victor Sanchez, Antoinette Sanchez, Beverly Sandoval, Maria Sandoval, and his great grandchildren Aubrey, Marcos, Dylan, Audrina, and Logan Sandoval, and Samantha Sanchez.
