ERNESTO A. LUJAN, 80, a resident of Santa Cruz, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2013. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Maria Susanna (Susie) Lujan; parents, Antonio J. and Delfina Lujan; daughter, Erneen Lujan Romero; son-in-law, Toby Romero; son, Anthony F. Lujan; in-laws, Alfredo and Catarina Cordova; brothers, Benito, Gaspar and Nasario Lujan; sister, Flora Martinez; brother-in-law, Gilbert Ortiz; sister-in-law, Obedulia Lujan; brothers-in-law, Pete, Seferino and Nicor Cordova. Mr. Lujan is survived by his sons, Ernesto Lujan, Jr., Leonard Lujan and companion Sheila and Randy Lujan; grandchildren, Randy J. Lujan, Janelle Mascareñas, Lisa Lujan and companion Serafin (J.R.) Vigil, Janet Romero and companion Patrick Vigil, Jennifer Romero, Cassandra Lujan and fiancé Horacio Garcia, Catrina Lujan, Gabrielle Garcia and Kiana, Angelica, Miranda and Mikayla Lujan; great-grandchildren, Jasmine and Jacob Vigil, Shania Trujillo and Reanna Vigil; sister, Carolina Ortiz of Chimayo; brother, Cipriano Lujan and wife Aggie of Santa Cruz; brothers-in-law, Rudy Cordova and wife Bernie and Leo Martinez; close friends, Arturo and Eufracia Montoya and Ruben and Sylvia Garcia; daughters-in-law, Fernanda Lovato and Leticia Mata and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Burial to follow at 2:15 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Randy J. Lujan, Jerry Cordova, Tomas Cordova, Eloy Roybal, Jr., Flaymon Sandoval and Serafin (J.R.) Vigil. Honorary pallbearers named are all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family of Ernesto A. Lujan has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
