Ernestine "Tina" - Age 80 - Españo Martinez

Ernestine “Tina” Martinez, 80, passed away on away Sunday, June 23, 2013 following a lengthy illness surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Francine and Geraldine “DeeDee” Valerio; parents, Tomas and Teresita Maestas; sister, Rosanna Sandoval and Fred Lopez and father of her children, Sam Valerio. Tina was a loving kind hearted lady who was always willing to give a helping hand. She helped raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many considered her a second mom and grandma. She will be dearly missed by all but she is at peace now in heaven. Mrs. Martinez is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Ortega and husband Johnny and Denise Valerio; granddaughter who she raised Shanda Valerio; grandsons, Francisco “Ponch” Ortega and wife Marisela, Mario Valerio and wife Jamie; great-grandchildren, Francina Valerio and husband James, Fabian Lopez, Erik Ortega, Tilo and Mario Jr. Valerio; sister, Flora Perea and husband Manual, Joe “Harpy” Maestas and wife Theresa and other loving relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 6:00p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home, with a rosary to follow at 7:00p.m. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 28, 2013 at 11:00a.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Espanola with burial to follow at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
