ERNESTINE T. MARTINEZ, 43, a resident of Ohkay Owingeh, passed away of a sudden illness on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Juan M. and Roselda Martinez from El Guique, Mary Cachora from Ohkay Owingeh, Luther Curran from Winterhaven California; favorite uncle, Alvin Curran from Ohkay Owingeh. Ernestine liked to draw and enjoyed herself helping others anytime in the community especially during Native Celebrations. Ernestine is survived by her father, Ernesto Martinez of El Guique, mother, Betty Martinez of Ohkay Owingeh; sisters, Anna Martinez, Joelle Martinez, brother, Juan Martinez all of Albuquerque; nephews, Ruben and wife Jessica Lucero of Chandler AZ, Mychal Gurule, and Jeremy Gurule of Albuquerque; great-niece, Nina Lucero, great-nephew, Gino Lucero all of Chandler AZ, and many other relatives. A rosary will be recited on Friday, November 13, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh, with a burial to follow at the Ohkay Owingeh Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers Ruben Lucero, Mychal Gurule, and Jeremy Gurule. The family of Ernestine T.
