Ernestine - Age 92 - Espanola - Montoya

Ernestine Montoya, 92, former resident of Espanola and Albuquerque, NM died April 23, 2010 in Peoria, AZ. Born and raised in South Central Colorado, she moved to New Mexico with her family in the late 1930’s. She is survived by 4 children, Pauline Montoya-Bowman of Kauai, HI, David Montoya and wife Judy, from Surprise, AZ, Tommy Montoya from Espanola, NM and Rick Montoya from Espanola, NM. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters and 6 brothers. She was preceded in death by her grandson Shawn Bowman and former husband Leo Montoya. A wake service will be held Thursday May 13, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday May 14, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Fr. Augustine Moore celebrant of the Mass. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Of Jesus Cemetery. The family of Ernestine Montoya has placed their trust in DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
