Ernestine Trujillo, 80, lifelong resident of Nambe passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2010. Ernestine was a cook for the Pojoaque Valley Schools for over 30 years, and was affectionately known as grandma. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nambe. Ernestine loved gardening and was always happy to care for her garden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Trujillo; grandson, Robert Trujillo Jr.; brothers: Leopoldo, Maclovio and Horacio Lopez. She is survived by her children: Robert D. Trujillo and wife Janet of Nambe, Ida Viarreal and husband Kenneth of El Guache, Gerald Trujillo of Nambe; sisters: Virginia Romero of Nambe, Miquela Romero and husband Arturo of Nambe, Prescilla Lovato and husband Joe of Santa Fe, Rafaelita Martinez of Albuquerque; grandchildren: Derek Trujillo and companion Celina Vigil, Amber Trujillo, David Viarreal and companion Destiny Romero, James Viarreal and companion Veronica Hernandez, Natalie Trujillo-Green and husband Stephen Green, Christopher Trujillo; great-grandchildren: Lorrena Viarreal, Adriana Viarreal, Roslynn Grace Green; brothers and sisters-in-law: Jimmy Trujillo of Santa Fe, Yolanda Brown and husband Carl of Pojoaque, Alfred Trujillo and wife Susie of Pojoaque; numerous nephews, nieces & other relatives and friends. A public visitation will be held on Monday, September 20, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nambe with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. also at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nambe. Burial to follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Leonard Lopez, Lonnie Martinez, Ted Lovato, Roy Trujillo, Alfred Trujillo and Jim Trujillo. The family of Ernestine Trujillo has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
