ERNESTINA (TINA) LOPEZ, 94, a lifelong resident of Truchas, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, February 3, 2014. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was an inspiration to her family and respected and loved by all who knew her. She will be remembered for the warmth of her home, love of her family, never ending smile and her love of Truchas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ely P. Lopez of November 18, 1954; daughter, Esther C. Miller on March 7, 2012; parents, Agustin and Elaisa Romero; brothers, Flavio Romero and Jose Amavil; in-laws, Juan and Domitila Lopez; brothers-in-law, Aaron Lopez, Juan Carlos Lopez, Silas Lopez, Albert Rodriguez, sisters-in-law, Lita Lopez and Prescilla Romero. Mrs. Lopez is survived by her children, Nellie Sanchez and husband Arsenio of Albuquerque, Louise Martinez and husband Wilfred of Chimayo, Eli Lopez and wife Carol of Rio Rancho, Valerio and wife Roxanne of Bernalillo and Michael and wife Lillian of La Mesilla; son-in-law, Kenn Miller of Fort Worth, Texas; sister, Eloiza Rodriguez of Fairview; sister-in-law, Jenny Romero of Truchas, Tessie Lopez of Albuquerque, Esther Lopez of Albuquerque and Della Lopez of Las Vegas; 17 beloved grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and numerous nephew and nieces whom she adored. Public visitation will begin on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a Memorial Service to follow at 6:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. also in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial to follow at the Los Llanitos Presbyterian Cemetery in Truchas with the following serving as pallbearers, James Lopez, Jelene Miller, John Paul Martinez, Robert Lopez, Valeriano Lopez and Vera McKnight. Honorary pallbearers will be all her grandchildren. The family of Ernestina (Tina) Lopez has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
