Ernest A. Lopez

Ernest (Ernie) A Lopez, 60, a resident of Santa Cruz , New Mexico, passed away peacefully and gained his wings to eternal life on December 23, 2022.

Ernie is preceded in death by his parents Liborio Sr. and Pauline Lopez, sisters Rachel Lopez and Elaine Franco, brothers Raymond Ortega SR and Jose Lopez, paternal grandparents Juan and Bonifacia Lopez, maternal grandparents Eliseo and Beroniz Ortega, brother-in-law Davy Trujillo, Godparents Teofilo and Epimenia Medina, In Laws Robert Suazo and Lucy Trujillo, close cousins Ray and Viola Martinez, Ruby Ann Lopez.

Ernie is survived by his wife Vangie Lopez, biological daughter Tina (Ernestina) Trujillo, sister Bonnie Trujillo, granddaughter Mia Trujillo, grandson Julian Rodriguez, brothers Eddie (Mary Jane) Lopez, Liborio Lopez Jr., and Dennis Lopez, sister Priscilla (Stanley) Moya, godson Raymond Ortega Jr., numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, close cousins Eppie Martinez, Bernie Montoya, and Josh Ortega, close friends Alphonse (Al) Forget, Joseph (Joe) Jacquez, Jimmy Lujan, Ranualto Corral, and close family friends Art (Dolores) Salazar.

Ernie was talented with his guitar and singing, which he was taught by his father. If you crossed paths with him, he always gave a lending hand and was never asking for anything in return. To him, you were considered familia. Everyone loved him for his kindness and was respected. Ernie enjoyed his Denver Broncos, NXT and WWE, but mostly being at Red’s Hydraulics and Lowrider Community.

A Service will be held on January 6, 2023 at 11:00 am at El Buen Pastor. Burial will follow at the Tiemplo Bautista Cemetery in Chimayo, NM.

Pallbearers will be Eppie Martinez, Josh Ortego, Lee Cordova, Roy Martinez, Bernie Montoya, Jimmy6 Lujan, Clint Montoya, and Joe Jaquez.
